Northwest Rescue's emergency response program was founded as the need for emergency/911 ambulances increased in the northern Illinois region.  Fire departments in the Rockford, IL region have partnered with Northwest Rescue as a primary response provider and mutual aid  response ambulance.

Through these partnerships, Northwest Rescue has decreased the burden  on the surrounding communities and built a response framework to better ensure appropriate utilization is being performed.
